Know the company
Make some research about the company you are applying for in order to know exactly what their business is and what they are looking for. It would be interesting to show that you write some details about it in your cover letter.

Study properly the job you are applying for and show it in your cover letter.
Attract by an appealing cover letter
Find an attractive format which will help the reader to determine quickly your profile. Your cover letter should be clearly organized with two or at least three paragraphs. Make sure that your English spelling and grammar are correct.
Show why your application should be taken into consideration
Be clear enough about how you can benefit the company and why you would be a good candidate for this job. Be precise and punchy in your application, and make sure that you provide enough information to make the employer want to learn more about you.

Do not hesitate to include in your cover letter examples or personal achievements that demonstrate your enthusiasm and your motivation.
Write a unique cover letter
Do not write an only cover letter for all the jobs you will apply for. You should address each letter individually and not use a general cover letter.

Contact information
Your cover letter must include your address, email and phone numbers at the top.
It must include your contact information as well. Do not forget to write the name and job title of the recipient with the company's name and address.
Date and Salutations at the beginning of your letter
Do not use the first name of the recipient because it could be considered as not very professional, even in an English company.
Object of your letter
Do not forget to precise why you write your cover letter. It may help you after to develop your letter after.
First paragraph
In this part of your cover letter, you must write again for which job you are applying for and why you consider yourself suitable for it. Make sure that your application express why you are interested in this job but show are you would be useful for the company too.
Second paragraph
Now put all the skills, qualifications and work experience relevant to the job description. You can mention details you did not write in your CV. If you do not have a large work experience, insist on the awards you may have received as a student or on other activities.
Third paragraph
For your last paragraph show you are the best for this application and that your skills would be perfect for the job.
Closing
Do not forget to thank the employer for considering your application and add that they can find enclosed a copy of your CV. Write when you would be available for an interview as well.
