Role Outline:
Working closely with members of the Project Services team on a day to day basis and on occasion with the commercial department.
The applicant will be expected to work at the offices based at Canary Wharf, London, with very occasional visits to the Head Office in Coventry.

We are looking for candidates with a Construction/ Telecommunications/ Rail background.
We will also look to consider Assistant or Trainee QSs - should you have the right qualifications and can do attitude.

Key Objectives:
* Provide support in the preparation of quotations
* Assist in negotiations with contractors/subcontractors/suppliers
* Assist in the agreement of costs/final accounts with contractors/subcontractors/suppliers
* Responsible for the measurement/assessment of progress of the works for the purpose of agreeing payment
* Responsible for the preparation of all variations, interim and final account payments and assist in their agreement with the Customer
* Preparation of and updating of Contract Cost Forecast information
* Implementation and management of change control process
* Provide all substantiation required to allow financial authorisation of all variations
* Liaison on project level with project personnel, the customer and subcontractors
* Responsible for the preparation of the documentation necessary for the submission of applications for payment to the customer and ensuring that payments are received on time.
* Provide assistance with the preparation of cost/value reconciliation information for inclusion within monthly contract reviews and attend the monthly contract review meetings
* Ensure that appropriate records/diaries/minutes of project meetings are being maintained
* Ensure that contract notices are given in a timely manner
* Liaise with the Commercial department
* Reporting any major commercial issues to the Commercial department

Essential Skills / Experience:
* The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a QS and preferably be MRICS Qualified or equivalent.
* Experience in an Underground or Rail environment would be particularly advantageous
* Experience in a Civils/BuildingTelecommunications environment would also be of interest.
