Engineering Design Manager with Electronic, Mechanical, Production background.

My client, a successful and expanding manufacturer of flight simulator systems are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic Engineering Design Manager. The role of the Design Manager is challenging and varied and will include leading and managing a combined electrical and mechanical design department, recruiting for the Electrical and Mechanical teams, defining and implementing process improvement policy, management of external suppliers and maintaining and improving the development to production workflow. The successful applicant will need to have a cross discipline electronic / mechanic development background, current experience in a similar Managerial position from within a low volume high cost manufacturing environment, have experience of pulling together and motivating cross functional development teams and a history of ?making things happen?. Knowledge of European Directives (Machinery Directive etc.) and PDM systems is also essential.
