Fantastic opportunity to join a leading Legal Firm.


This is an ideal role for an enthusiastic and capable secretary for this busy team. Candidates must be organised, be able to use their own initiative and have a highly flexible ?can do? approach to work. The Partner spends much of his time out of the office and therefore we are looking for someone who is able to work on his or her own and be self motivated. The successful candidate must be a team player and have excellent communication and client care skills. Previous experience of working in a law firm is desirable but not a pre-requisite.

Principal duties

The successful candidate will be required to carry out conventional secretarial duties as follows: -

· Word processing of documents and correspondence as directed by fee-earners (audio and copy typing).
· Legal documentation work including creating and amending legal documents.
· Attending to clients on the telephone (for the Employment Team or other teams where calls are left unanswered) and in person and providing refreshments for clients when appropriate.
· Setting up new files accurately and promptly on instructions from the fee-earner.
· Dealing accurately with filing, storage and retrieval of client?s files in accordance with the Team?s filing system.
· Managing diaries and making appointments and the setting up of internal and external meetings.
Photocopying, fax and document binding duties when appropriate.

· Ensuring confidentiality and security of all Practice and Clients documentation and/or information.
· Providing support to other secretaries and fee earners when able to do so, via the Team Leader/Head of HR.
· Undertaking any specific training or refresher course as and when required by the firm.
Undertaking any other duties which may be allocated.

Skills Required

· Effective secretarial, administrative and organisational skills.
· Highly flexible approach to working as part of a busy team.
· Professional manner on the telephone and face to face with clients and staff.
· Discretion.
· Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
· Good communication skills.
· Excellent working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
Accurate and fast typing including audio is a pre-requisite.
