Business Development Manage - conferencing and banqueting - Leeds - Salary, £28k/annumn.

Company: The company is owned and operated by a charitable trust and is a leading tourism destination which generates an annual turnover of around £8 million. Part of this is brought in by a significant outsourced conference and banqueting business, a golf course, retail, events and other licensing and hospitality business streams. An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to identify and manage new conferencing and banqueting accounts who can operate in this demanding and challenging environment.

Role:
?This is a totally pro-active sales role with responsibility for driving new conference and banqueting business into the company. The person appointed will achieve increased revenue generation by identifying, managing and penetrating new customer accounts with regional agencies and direct market sectors.
?The successful applicant should be ambitious, self-motivated to be able to spend 4 days out of the office each week and therefore the role will require extensive travel.
?To research and target specific market segments through sales activities to deliver revenues to the venue.
?To carry out agreed set proactive sales calls per week and calendar month split between relevant market segments including, customer site appointments, in house site visits, presentations and reviews.
?To work with the in house sales and marketing team to ensure clear communication of new account needs and account activity. All activity must be in line to achieve the venue?s key business objectives.
?To maintain contact with new accounts through face to face, site visits, telephone, written, direct mail activity and client events.

Candidate skills:
?An articulate, intelligent and credible individual who is professionally qualified, capable of strong financial leadership and is able to communicate effectively across disciplines and at all levels is essential.
?Working experience in handling conferences, meetings, corporate hospitality and banqueting is essential along with confidence of dealing with senior buyers and negotiating with clients.
?Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
?To be able to support sales and marketing initiatives including exhibition attendance, customer events and client initiatives as required.

You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.

Package: £28k/annumn
