Editorial Content Manager- Basildon - £30,000 - £35,000
Overview:
This new role takes editorial responsibility for the content of our client?s range of healthcare websites,
events and publications. Delivering high quality written and illustrative content for the portfolio, the role focuses specifically on two media brands in the fields of healthcare procurement and the healthcare build environment. Managing an editorial budget and external contributors, the successful candidate will make contact and develop relationships with key opinion leaders, industry figures, journalists, professional bodies and internal teams.
Main Functions
- To source relevant news stories and images, to sub-edit, proof read and upload content
- To research and investigate features, interview key figures, compile articles and commentaries
- To source and commission content, to manage external contributors to ensure quality standards
- To manage publishing projects, such as special reports, supplements and handbooks
- To propose topics for conferences, to identify speakers and to compile conference programmes
- To research and compile relevant industry facts, listings, statistics, data and other useful content
- To conduct research amongst readers/users to gain a thorough understanding of requirements
Other Functions
- To attend and report on industry events
- To provide input into commercial plans and product plans
- To provide input into publication, website and system design
Relationship to Other Roles
- Reporting directly to the Head of Publishing and Marketing
- Working closely with internal teams : marketing, production, web development, research, sales, and external contributors
- No direct reports (staff) at present
Skills and Experience:
- Likely to have a investigative journalism / editorial background
- Adaptable and highly proficient written communications skills
- Excellent all round communication and project management skills
- Very comfortable liaising at all levels and building business relationships
- Some internet/digital publishing experience
- Preferably with experience in the health sector and a good understanding of the NHS
