Senior Medical Writer : Pharmaceutical Consultancy : Based Horsham : Salary 30-40K Basic

Our client is a leading consultancy who works with clients in the Pharmaceutical Sector. They work at the very early stages of a compounds commercial and clinical development. Key areas of activity include assessment of markets and market potential, understanding the competitive environment now and in the future, and in-market testing of concepts to feed into
clinical and commercial development. Marketing research projects also provide a means of confirming the validity of the outcomes of the strategic planning processes.
Due to expansion, our client is currently looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join its Editorial Services department and assist in the production of exceptional quality medical education materials for the pharmaceutical industry.
The ideal candidate will:
? be educated to degree or PhD level
? have 3:4 years experience as a writer in the medical communications industry
? demonstrate a high standard of accuracy and literacy, and attention to detail
? have a broad experience of developing written communications that enhance understanding of both product and disease areas
? offer demonstrable knowledge of several therapeutic areas, in particular diabetes and metabolic disorders
? have a proven ability to assimilate medical and marketing information and offer input into strategic communications
? exercise good interpersonal/communication skills for effective and professional liaison with clients and healthcare professionals
? contribute to new business development for existing and new clients, assist in the development of proposals, and play an active role in preparation and delivery of pitches/ presentations
? thrive under pressure, and be able to work to tight deadlines, whilst delivering exceptional and high-quality materials

Reporting to the Editorial Team Leader, you will be keen to take responsibility as lead writer on at least one account, and develop solid relationships with your clients and opinion leaders. This position will attract a driven individual who seeks to develop their career within a small and successful medical communications agency. Therapeutic area knowledge of diabetes, cardiology, pain, or contraception, would be an advantage.
