Medical Director, Hertfordshire, Six-figure package
Niche pharmaceutical company with global presence is seeking a Medical Director to join their senior management team at an interesting and important stage of their development.
In this role you will provide comprehensive medical department support to the UK sales and marketing organisation, ensuring that the company complies with all legal and ABPI standards. Reporting to the VP, Medical Affairs, who is based in Europe, you will be the UK company?s product and therapy area expert. Leading a small team for each area, your responsibilities will cover Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs and Sales Force Training in the UK, together with management of UK clinical studies more general management at a strategic level. You will attend advisory boards, field visits with representatives and develop good relationships with external customers including opinion leaders and Medical Societies.
You must be a medical doctor with current GMC registration and clinical experience in either oncology or CNS/pain. A Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine or Specialist Registration and/or a postgraduate qualification such as MRCP would be a distinct advantage. You may currently be working at a more junior level, but feel ready to make the move to the Director position; in this case, you must have proven team management experience including recruitment and appraisals, and budget management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, together with the gravitas required for this level, are essential.
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK, and travel regularly to Europe and the US, to apply for this position.
