Head of Finance, NW Europe : Pharmaceuticals : Bedfordshire : Up to c.£65,000pa neg + equity + bonus + car/allowance + benefits
Outstanding opportunity for an entrepreneurial finance manager to join the European team of this young, dynamic, global pharmaceutical company. Backed by venture capital, the company is relatively new but managed by a team of seasoned professionals who have considerable previous experience and success in the industry. The strategy is growth, both organically and by acquisition.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a key member of the senior management team for the European region covering the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. As such you will not only be responsible for providing high quality, comprehensive finance department support to this area, you will also be expected to play a role in the general management of the business. With high standards, and high levels of energy, you will be happy to get on with whatever the job demands, initially with limited administrative support, and you must be prepared to roll your sleeves up and muck in if necessary.
As well as ensuring timely and accurate transactional processing, you will monitor the Region?s performance against key financial targets, work with Group Finance to ensure statutory compliance across the region, and manage the annual budget process and any forecasts during the year for the Region. In addition you will be responsible for site/office administration, including setting up the new Regional office in Bedfordshire.
With an impressive career history to date, a creative, dynamic ?can do? personality and ideally with experience in the pharmaceutical industry, the successful candidate will have a recognised UK Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA o r ICAEW) with at least 5 years? proven commercial PQE. You enjoy working as part of a close knit team, but can also work on your own initiative and, crucially, are not afraid of taking decisions. Whilst this could be your first role at this level, you must be able to demonstrate experience of working with the wider business, and some experience of acquisitions and Sarbanes Oxley would be a distinct advantage. You must have proven ability to build relationships across a wide range of disciplines and levels of management, both internally and externally. Ambition and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential.
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK, as well as be able to travel freely throughout Europe and the US to be considered for this role.
