My client seeks a Senior Product Manager to manage to manage the Addressing Labels category to deliver business objectives, including net sales and net income plans. Addressing Labels are a flagship product for the client business and represent the largest category in Office Products UK. Working as part of the European Marketing Team, this role will work on strategy, product renovation and creation, execution and measurement of promotions.
Duties/Responsibilities
? Create and drive the marketing strategies for the category to deliver business objectives - in conjunction with UK & European Marketing Managers (In line with Business Worldwide Vision, Strategies & Priorities)
? Formulate, develop and execute marketing plans for product category in alignment with European Category Manager (for European categories), from NPD to end of life cycle deletions. Regular updates of information on Business Plans database.
? Regular analysis and interpretation of category and customer data, and development of action plans as a result.
? Identify, develop and communicate New Product Development plans, working in conjunction with Operations, Sales, and European Teams (where relevant). Manage new launches through NPD process.
? Management of key projects - prioritise, create, develop, recommend and execute projects which further category objectives.
? Propose and manage category activity plan and annual marketing budget, including ROI calculations and post-activity analysis of promotional effectiveness.
? Development of effective and in-budget consumer promotions within marketing plans. Ensure adherence to global and European brand guidelines for all promotions and packaging.
? Guide and prioritise customer marketing activity/ spend on the category through Sales and Customer Marketing colleagues. Use learnings from promotions to drive future activity plans.
? Understanding and active use of P&L to measure and drive category profitability.
? Create and drive distribution listings plan & category management opportunities in both retail & commercial channels. Implementation through Sales and Customer Marketing.
? Recommendation of product listings by key customer/ channel, working closely with Sales & Customer Marketing. Use category knowledge to help Customer Marketing to prepare product proposals for key customers. Attend product proposals to key customers, supporting Sales colleagues as category expert.
? Develop, document and communicate understanding of key consumer segments and dimensions, to support development of future strategies.
? Formulate, develop and execute market research proposals to gain greater understanding of the consumer, the category and the market. Develop recommendations from research results.
? Develop packaging for new products, from concept to Production, through pre-approved Agencies/ suppliers. Update existing packaging where necessary.
? Work closely and communicate regularly and effectively with Sales, Consumer Centre & Customer Marketing colleagues to drive key category objectives.
? Provide forecasts to Operations and Finance on request, quarterly and for AOP planning.
? Full integration and involvement in Product Management and broader marketing team, including attendance and input at team meetings, sharing experience and learnings with more junior staff, and acting as Marketing Manager?s representative when she is unavailable.
The Ideal Person
The successful person will possess:
? 5+ years solid experience as a (Snr) Product/Brand Manager in an established Consumer/ B2B Marketing function
? A Marketing or Business Studies Degree or equivalent (CIM qualified)
? Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of working in cross-functional teams
? High level of independence and autonomy
? Strong negotiation and relationship skills
