Product Manager - Generalisation - Cambridge - 50-55K.

We are looking for a senior Product Manager to join our rapidly growing Product Management Team. This is a permanent position, suitable for a business professional with at least 5 years experience in the areas of Cartography, Digital Mapping and GIS.

Our client is the market leaders in both Model and Cartographic Generalisation. We seek an energetic, self-motivated, professional, individual to drive this expertise forward in a maturing market. This is an exciting opportunity in a rapidly growing company.

Candidates for this role should have a degree in a related discipline and good business knowledge and experience of the subject area. While in-depth business knowledge of the Generalisation market is considered essential, the ideal candidate will also have experience of IT Product Management and Structured Software development.

You should have a flexible approach, a desire to learn and strong communication abilities. The Products team operates in a very fast-moving environment and interacts with all members of the company. You must be prepared to work to deadlines and be confident dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
Working as part of a team, your responsibilities will include:

Defining the Product, including the target market, Product concepts, benefits to be delivered, positioning strategy, price points, customer requirements and design specifications
The overall process of strategy, concept generation, Product and marketing plan creation and evaluation, and commercialisation of the Product including launch and delivery
Changing the features and benefits of the Product, elements of the marketing mix and software development over time to maximize the profits obtainable from the product over its lifecycle
Work with senior management team to define the Product strategy
Work with software development team to refine the Product
Work with the sales and marketing team to deliver key positioning messages
Champion the Product both internally and in the wider marketplace
