Our Client manages a large food distribution contract from a modern multi-temperature distribution centre located in Kabul, Afghanistan on behalf of one of the countries who is participating in ISAF, the multi-national peacekeeping force in Afghanistan.
They are currently seeking a QA Inspector for this distribution centre.
Reporting into the QA Manager the successful candidate will assist the QA Manager in managing and promoting continuous improvement of our clients food safety program.
They will also monitor compliance of the food safety program by assisting the QA Manager by carrying out internal audits and will oversee management of corrective action program through direct contact with Warehouse and Operations Managers to ensure actions are implemented in a timely manner with an effective outcome.
The job holder will undertake internal audits as per the agreed schedule set by the QA Manager.
You will monitor and ensure compliance with the sites food safety program through internal auditing and reporting deficiencies to the QA Manager.
You will oversee the implementation of suggestions and preventative actions arisen from the audits and will report the audit score and findings to the QA Manager and the Group Technical Manager after each audit is conducted.
You will assist with the development of the quality culture on site to increase employee awareness to factors that may compromise food safety through guidance and training and with guidance from the QA Manager and the Group Technical Manager.
Finally you will provide technical guidance and support to Managers as delegated by the QA Manager.

Knowledge and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge, you will ideally be a recent graduate who has some industrial experience in a QA role ideally gained in an fmcg environment with a strong understanding of food safety programs, HACCP principles, inspection and audit programs.
Your practical experience which may be limited should ideally be supported by a tertiary education with a qualification in a science discipline, ideally food technology.
Ideally you should have formal accreditation as an Auditor or Trainer in HACCP Food Hygiene / Handling etc.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
This is an outstanding challenge for a recent graduate with some QA experience looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 18 to 24 months commitment.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit share bonus available which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.
Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approx 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.
Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
