Our client a leading manufacturer of office and home furniture are looking to recruit an experienced Production Team Leader. You will be required to produce product on time, in full, to the highest quality standards whilst working towards continuous improvements. You will have full accountability for a team of 16+ staff and will organise work schedules to ensure completion of all daily, weekly objectives .You will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance checks and associated documentation is completed. The manufacturing department is split into individual cells and you will be responsible for maintaining the housekeeping within your work area. This will be monitored and audited monthly against fixed criteria and it will be your full responsibility to ensure standards are met through the effective delegation of duties to your team. As Team leader you will be expected to adhere to all Health & Safety and if appropriate recommend improvement ideas to the H&S representative. Full Manual Handling training will be given and you will then be required to train all members of your team and monitor as required. A core part of this role is the effective management of your workforce so our client requires an individual with excellent man management and leadership skills. Due to the level of supervisory support required a manager with effective communication and strong people skills is required. An element of the role will involve Training & Support, appraisals and return to work interviews coupled with the need to conduct Production Activities within other areas of the business. Hours of work are 7.30 am to 4.00pm Mon to Fri however flexibility will be required as during holiday periods there will be a need to cover shift 4pm -12.30pm on an adhoc basis.
