Lean Manufacturing Consultant / Productivity Engineer / Productivity Consultant / Kaizen
Paying up to £45,000 our client is looking for Lean Manufacturing Consultants in East or West Midlands, London or the South West
Our client industry is Lean Manufacturing and Business Improvement based on its experience of implementing best practice productivity interventions. They have experience in delivering productivity interventions in a range of different organisations from Multinationals to SMEs.
They have taken the techniques from the manufacturing industry and applied them to the service industry and public sector. (these include NHS, Hospital Trusts, Councils and the like) The ideal candidate will probably have gained their background in manufacturing / production but then applied that knowledge to other industries too. Some of the traits that the client is looking for are below. These are "would likes" not "must haves" but the more you can demonstrate these in your CV the better your application would be considered
Productivity techniques in as wide an area as possible
Communication skills to talk to all levels of management
Able to carry out PNA (productivity needs analysis)
Ability to adapt to new ideas and not automatically bringing entrenched ideas from manufacturing to public sector / service industry
Project management skills
Team attitude
Able to carry out a business assessment to identify needs
Understands WFD (workforce development)
Understands Business Improvement Techniques
Understands train the trainer
Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a minimum of 2 Lean Manufacturing Consultants to join them. The role will be a mixture of home and client based with occasional trips to the head office for meetings / training etc
Your role will be to develop strategies with organisations to improve agreed Key Point Indicators (KPI) utilising workforce development and intervention support
You will undertake delivery of productivity tools and techniques and support client company personnel in the application of these.
To succeed in this role you should have a thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing Productivity Improvement Techniques and be highly competent in problem solving and data analysis. You should also understand Work Measurement Techniques and be competent in MS Office
Your experience will include introducing Lean Manufacturing techniques into a variety of environments, ideally back office operations and manufacturing companies
Together with the salary of up to £45k for the right person, there is a mileage allowance of 40p per mile
