standards of Health and Safety performance. Due to continued expansion an opportunity is available in the Health & Safety team. With this role there is some flexibility in where it can be located, either at the company head office in Lancashire or South Yorkshire.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and supporting all the company sites, the Health & Safety Technical Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a management system to ensure compliance with REACH; and for providing a technical and administrative support function for the company Health & Safety department. The Health & Safety Technical Officer will evaluate compliance with REACH by the company and suppliers; develop, implement and maintain
a system to ensure timely registration by the company and suppliers; monitor, audit, review and secure compliance; and advise Senior Management on ongoing compliance.
Along with excellent planning and prioritisation, communication and negotiating skills, the successful candidate will preferably have knowledge of the chemical industry; experience in a commercial role; be qualified to degree level in Chemistry or a related subject; and be willing to undertake appropriate REACH and Health & Safety training.
