Our client is a processor of metals based in the Northamptonshire. Due to continued expansion we are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environment Officer.
THE ROLE
Health and Safety at Work
To understand the operations of the site so as to ensure that all employees are following procedures, work instructions and SSOW so that all tasks are carried out safely, and that all legislative and company policy requirements are met.
Environment
To carry out environmental impact reviews to ensure that legislative and company policy requirements are met and that new environmental initiatives are implemented.
To provide reports as required by the Environment Agency Inspector and site IPPC Permit.
Training, Technology and Quality
To support the Training, IT and Quality personnel by providing guidance and specialist knowledge with regards to EHS issues.
THE DUTIES
With the assistance of external specialists in the relevant field, advice and guide my client in the following
· Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
· Organisation of Health, Safety and Environmental responsibilities
· The preparation, implementation and maintenance of the Site Health and Safety and Environmental Impact Plans.
· Implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and processes to ensure companywide compliance with legislation and the companys IPPC permit, keeping abreast of legislative changes and the relevance to the company.
· Devising, implementing and maintaining a suitable training programme.
Implementing and maintaining routine health monitoring as required.
Assisting in the investigation of all accidents/incidents. Follow up actions and manage recommendations to achieve continuous improvements of H&S and environmental standards and associated costs to the business
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Environmental Risk Management Certificate
NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma in Safety Management
Practical knowledge of H&S, Environment and Quality Legislation
Minimum 2 years practical experience in similar role
Computer Literate
