Our Client is a major household name, the UK number one retailer and the worlds largest on-line grocer. Their distribution centre network is a mixture of ambient food, non food and composite and they are currently seeking a Maintenance Team Manager at their frozen and chilled distribution centre in Monmouthshire.

The successful candidate will manage a team of Maintenance Technicians who carry out planned and unplanned maintenance, following set routines and processes whilst working in a safe and legal manner minimising disruption to the DC.

You will provide site maintenance services to the Distribution Centre and ensure effective office cleaning services are provided within budget. Maintaining Health and Safety, legal and security requirements are met at all times you will ensure full compliance with current and new legislation.

The maintenance of conveyor systems and monitoring the work of outside contractors will also be under your control.

Able to actively manage all aspects of customer service requirements, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach to ensuring maintenance plans align with priorities and objectives.

You will maintain and actively champion team communication, whilst managing the performance and development of staff. Setting objectives, controlling quality and standards, and motivating your team will also be crucial success factors of this role.

Knowledge and Skills:

As you can imagine experience in a similar role within a unionised environment would be a real advantage.

Our Client is also looking for someone with strong leadership, the ability to make and drive critical decisions and to prioritise workloads. Ideally you will hold qualifications in mechanical and / or electronic/electrical engineering and Health & Safety regulations.

As an experienced leader of people you will have the proactive ability to challenge existing practices and drive through change to benefit the business.

Excellent analytical, organisation and communication skills coupled with influencing skills and teamwork, will already have ensured your success as a supervisor or manager.

The salary range is £26- 30k pa. The successful candidates starting salary will be determined by the candidates skill set and experience. In addition there is a range of excellent benefits and overtime is payable under some circumstances.
