Title: Estimator (FM Maintenance)

Purpose: To form part of the Business Development Team in meeting Sales Targets and company objectives : both renewals and new opportunities.

Responsible To: Commercial Manager

Location: Eastleigh

Dimensions: To cover the Mobile & Project Services Division.

Subordinates: Two

Principle Accountabilities:


· To manage the bid and resource co-ordination process involving both direct and indirect staff management.
· Propose innovative solutions to deliver client requirements.
· To have industry knowledge to keep abreast of competitors methodologies.
· Provide information and prepare and compilation of proposal submissions including solution and option appraisal of new methods of FM Service delivery to identify valid and viable commercial delivery options.
· Proactive approach to the continuous improvement in communications, management procedures and systems to maximise profitability and improve operational efficiencies.
· Management of the implementation of ?best practice? arising from consultation and liaison with external bodies and other EFS divisions.
· Management of the implementation of common practice across the division to ensure meaningful commercial and operational datum?s are established.
· Use of Clients BMF Estimating package / system to verify validity of bids.
· Obtaining specialist subcontractor costs.
· Read and understand the client requests / documentation.
· Formulate bid based on BDM brief where required.
· Labour loading of asset information.
· Attend site visits as required across the UK as part of the bid process.
· Assist in the production of correspondence and documentation.
· Update Pipeline Reporting System and to contribute, to the generation of BD Management information reports.
· Attend Divisional Bid Meetings.
· Progressing submitted tenders.
· Assist in formulation of tender returns.
· Establishing agreed benchmarks for performance.
· Measurement of performance versus contracted requirements.
· Identification of a broad range of cost saving initiatives in line with contractual obligations.
· Interactions with client organisations as required, providing meaningful reports and proactive data and information.
· Other duties as directed by the Commercial Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:
· Educated to HNC/HND Standard (or equivalent).
· Minimum of 5 years significant experience within the FM Industry.
· Excellent management experience.
· Good IT Skills to include, word, excel and powerpoint.
