The team share a common desire to consistently deliver high quality service to customers.The Role:As a result of a restructure of our clients transport function they are now seeking a number of Transport Team Leaders.Transport Team Leaders report into Transport Shift Managers and assist the Shift Manager with the day to day running of the shift. Depending upon which shift is worked depends upon the activities you will be managing. This could be route planning, driver and vehicle deployment, driver de-briefing etc etc.Overall whichever shift you work you will ensure adherence to legal compliance and Health & Safety measures.As the transport operation is 6 x 24, a rota system is place. The rota is based on a 2 week rota. Week one is 6 days on, one day off and then the following week is five days on, two days off for and then back to Week 1 rota.Actual shifts worked are 12 hour shifts and the timings of shifts are 12 midnight to 12 noon, 2am : 2pm, 3am : 3pm and 4am to 4pm.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will be a CPC holder, with experience in transport / distribution management gained in a fast moving multi -drop environment.
Demonstrating exceptional leadership, communication and motivational skills, you will assist with the planning and organizing all transport activities, manage all transport staff and forge good working relationships with customers.
You should have transport supervisory / management experience, coupled with a sound grasp of current practice and transport legislation.
You will combine ambition with a flexible outlook and have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills are a must, together with the ability to balance professional ethics and commercial needs.
You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and deal with difficult situations calmly and efficiently.
Finally you should have the necessary inter-personal skills to effectively work as part of a depot transport management team.
