Our client a leading provider of logistics, warehousing, distribution and transportation within the supply chain industry are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planning Manager for the General Haulage department. You will be responsible for taking ownership of the planning function ensuring effective planning of multi customer deliveries and collections onto company vehicle fleet, whilst achieving the highest levels of profitability, customer service and legislative compliance. Others duties will include managing customer expectations, internal / external communication for any delivery / collection non compliance. Build, manage and maintain business practice with suppliers and sub contractors. Manage the activity of the Transport Planner, Transport Clerks, Shunters and loaders. Planning and financial responsibility for customer export requirements. Compile and publish revenue and cost KPis in conjunction with performance targets. Our client is looking for an individual who is CPC qualified with previous experience of planning a multi customer, multi drop, groupage operation. Excellent knowledge of EU Tachograph / RTD / Vehicle weights & measures legislation is essential for this position. Previous experience of Food Grade Planning and Distribution coupled with excellent geographical knowledge would be a distinct advantage. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure is required. Hours of work are based on a 48 hour week inclusive of a Saturday morning and on call duties.
