Our Client is a major household name, the UKs number one retailer and the worlds largest on-line grocer.
Our Clients distribution centres, a mixture of ambient food, non food or composite are intensive 24 hour 7 days per week operations.
They are currently seeking a Regional Transport Planner to work Double Days at their Non : Food DC in Northamptonshire.
Reporting into the Regional Planning Manager, as a Regional Transport Planner it will be down to you to produce a regional transport schedule that gives our clients operation an edge over their competitors. Keenly aware of the impact of schedules on driver cost savings, you will place a great deal of emphasis on financial planning and analysis.
Key tasks will be creating part of a daily schedule for all of our clients hub DCs. In addition you will be involved with the planning of trunking station and non- food deliveries with integrated fleet functionality using Paragon software.
You will be responsible for producing KPIs from the planned delivery schedules for the hub DCs and you will identify and resolve customer service issues such as delivery clashes.
You will also be responsible for reviewing Planned Vs Actual data and for modelling delivery schedule scenarios for budgeting and other purposes.
Because deadlines are paramount, you will need the confidence to manage conflicting demands from different stores. You will also need to have a clear picture of the rules affecting drivers? working times and the WTD

Knowledge and Skills:
This is a key role which requires transport planning experience, ideally gained within a distribution or retail environment.
As an experienced Transport Planner you will have the proactive ability to challenge existing practices and help to drive through change to benefit the business.
You should have excellent analytical, organisation and communication skills coupled with influencing skills. You should be a team player!
You will also need to have a clear picture of the rules affecting drivers? working times and the WTD.
Experience of the Paragon System is ideal but if you haven?t got that our experience, our client will provide all the training you need.

The salary range is £23-24k pa. The successful candidates starting salary will be determined by the candidates skill set and experience. In addition there is a range of excellent benefits and overtime is payable under some circumstances.
