Proposals Manager wanted within the Railway Sector : Salary Dependant on Experience : Based Derby

Our client is a leading railway consultancy. They are looking for a dynamic and flexible individual to direct, manage and guide bidding related activities for the company and to develop both the bidding capability and support service within the UK business. The role of the Proposals Manager is to head the bid team and will involve working closely with operational teams and with the Client Account Managers to enhance the quality of bids and increase our clients chances of winning work.

Reporting to the UK Regional Director, the work will involve:

? Developing appropriate bid strategies, winning themes and improving bid/no-bid decisions
? Leading the cost-effective production of selected proposals for significant project opportunities
? Working closely with the appropriate staff in operational teams and Client Account Managers to develop high quality proposals with clear scope, methodologies, prices and commercial terms that meet the client?s requirements
? Developing bidding as a recognised skill within teams including training and development of individuals to maintain competency
? Becoming the Technology Leader for bidding, including development of Significant Bid Leaders and managing the bid team web-page on iNet
? Ensuring everyone has access to and is aware of useful information for bids including CVs, Case Studies, Capability Statements, bid templates and bid database
? Capturing lessons learnt from bids and projects at completion
? Supporting regional offices with significant bids, particularly those with smaller offices
? Improving our client?s competitiveness and increasing our chances of winning work.

Key skills and experience required for success in this role:

? Significant Bid Leader and Assignment Allocator with good project management capability and ability to work under pressure
? Good appreciation of the full range of our client?s expertise, experience, services and resources that can be offered in response to project opportunities
? A broad understanding of commercial, contractual, financial and technical issues within a proposal, in order that appropriate experts in each area can be consulted for advice or involved as appropriate
? Ability to lead the bid team and develop the skill of bidding
? Excellent communication skills, and in particular the ability to write convincing proposals with clear and concise text.

The successful candidate will have a flexible and dynamic approach, coupled with the motivation and drive to ensure high quality and successful bids are routinely produced . This challenging role will offer the opportunity to work with colleagues across our client?s group on a wide variety of projects at tender stage and includes the development and enhancement of our client?s bidding skills.
