Our client is a global freight forwarder and has been established in the UK since 1980. They provide solutions to the diverse and complex transport requirements of the international engineering, civil construction, petrochemical and power generating sectors.

They are currently seeking a Project Co-ordinator for their Government and Special Operations Department to be based at their offices in Middlesex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring mobilisation times are met, booking relevant transports from client warehouses / ex works, raising required documentation and cross checking suppliers paperwork.

You will also be responsible for sending Pre-alerts, updating BTS system, ensuring all job files are completed in accordance with QA and project requirements and preparing reports on CFO?s and timely/accurate dispatch to Afghanistan, Iraq and the Africas.

You will interface with clients on original documentation for customs clearance, resolve any problems with paperwork occurring in Middlesex and Dubai.

Finally you will speak directly with local agents on any queries, obtain freight rates for bids and ad hoc quotations and prepare quotations.

Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate should be an accomplished logistics professional with freight forwarding experience ideally in all three disciplines : sea, air and road freight.

You will be familiar with customs documentation, import and export procedures.

You should have some project forwarding experience and experience of the Middle East, Afghanistan and The Africas would be ideal.

Previous military experience would be desirable

You should be well organised, have the ability to work under pressure, be flexible and able to work on ones own initiative.

Our client is offering a basic salary of around £24-27k depending upon experience and skill set. In addition there is a good range of benefits.
