Major 3PL with 8 out bases covering 300 deliveries per day across mainland UK requires an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the out of hours operation. Ideally candidates should have previous Supervisory experience and be a confident leader, as you will be responsible for overseeing the on site Loaders, Shunting team and all drivers reporting in and out of the depot. A high level of communication is essential as you will be required to deal with all driver issues on shift e.g. breakdowns & delays on route. You will be fully responsible for briefing drivers out on vehicles and de-briefing drivers back into the depot. It is essential that the successful individual has strong inter personnel skills and can build strong working relationships with the driving & shunting team, along with the ability to support and deal with any problematic situations that occur. Strong geographical knowledge coupled with an understanding of road networks is essential. This role doesnt require any vehicle routing as this is planned and scheduled during the day shift, however all vehicles will have left site prior to shift start so a hands on and re-active approach is required.
