Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider providing food logistics, catering, fm and retail services across The Middle East, Africa and Near Asia.

They are currently seeking an International Transport Manager to be based at their Regional Service Centre in Dubai.

Reporting into the Supply Chain Director the successful candidates primary objective will be to find cost effective and operationally viable options for better management of our clients logistics chain. This will include fully defining the logistic liability and communicating this requirement to potential service providers.

In addition you will ensure our client possesses a credible industry reputation and you will have excellent knowledge of international logistic organizations and to make use of same to represent our client in meetings with potential third party providers.

You will carry out research into competitive pricing and will recommend third party logistics service providers and will develop strategies and concepts for the improvement and ongoing development of the logistics department required to maintain our client as a professional foodservice supplier.

You will conduct internal audits of all aspects of the transportation of goods on an ongoing basis ensuring strict compliance with both our clients operating principles and procedures and to further refine such procedures.

You will also carry out external audits on all aspects of supplier operations with the aim of maintaining approved transport supplier status.

Finally you review all transport and other third party logistics service providers in relation to cost and quality of service delivery on an ongoing basis and make recommendations for change as appropriate.

Knowledge and Skills:

Of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in logistics and supply chain with an excellent knowledge of administration, warehouse, transport and international transport operations. This should be supported by a Degree in Business Management and ideally an MBA.
You will have very strong competencies in entrepreneurial leadership, financial astuteness and in developing and maintaining customer relationships based on service excellence.
Candidates for the position will also need to demonstrate the ability to organise and efficiently manage a complex logistics operation supported by strong commercial acumen and excellent knowledge of budgets and financial planning.
. You will be able to show that you fully understand the importance of the relationship between sales success and quality of service delivery.

You should have an excellent knowledge of and recent experience in analysis of service providers in the international freight market with a proven ability to identify and select vendors offering customized logistic solutions at competitive prices.

Superb business analytical, negotiation skills and good commercial acumen are essential supported by high personal energy levels and enthusiasm.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate, particularly in Excel.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished logistics professional looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 18 to 24 months commitment.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus payable after 12 month?s service which is paid annually and is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

In addition the job holder will have a maintained company vehicle or vehicle allowance, medical insurance, a laptop and mobile phone. The holiday entitlement is 30 days and a one off relocation allowance of $4,500 is also payable.

Ex-Patriate employees will also receive 1 paid return economy flight per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
