Our client is a leading player in Branded Apparel probably best known as a leading manufacturer of ladies underwear. With well known international products, they have a successful and impressive portfolio of basic, non-fashion apparel brands in the intimates, underwear, legwear and sportswear categories.
The company has a turnover in excess of £40 million and is continually seeking to grow.
The Role:
Reporting to the Forecast Manager, you will be responsible for the forecasting and statistical analysis of a number of well known lingerie brands. You will be required to regularly liaise and build strong working relationships with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Planning and Customer Service departments and Senior Management.
Key tasks will include, but are not limited to:
· Top-down and bottom-up demand forecasting on a rolling 18 month basis.
· Targeting and monitoring sell-in of new styles/ranges.
· Incorporating consumption data and demand projections from key accounts into the overall forecast.
· Proactively working with Sales account managers and key accounts to seek ways of obtaining more accurate projected demands.
· Liaising with Sales to ensure activities are forecast within acceptable timeframes.
· Working closely with Marketing over new product launches and discontinuation / range rationalisation decisions.
· Providing ad hoc analytical support to various departments and Senior Management for business decision making.
Key measures of success will be: Forecast accuracy, Stock availability/inventory level and On-time achievement of key forecast milestones.
Knowledge and Skills:
Graduate calibre with strong commercial awareness and a talent for analysis combined with excellent communication skills. Ideally from an analytical background with experience of demand/sales forecasting and/or inventory management.
Forecasting experience gained in the fast moving consumer goods sector would be an advantage but is not essential. Computer literacy in both use of database and PC software packages is a prerequisite of this role. Previous AS400 mainframe usage would also be an advantage.
