Founded in 1983, our client is a second generation family owned business. They are one of the largest independent specialists in Southern England providing Office Furniture, Interior Design and Fit-out services across the UK.
Their 25 year history has allowed steady growth and with a policy of re-investment they have created a strong financial base from which to operate. They are now seeking a Delivery and Installation Planner.
Reporting into the Operations Director the successful candidate will manage the planning process for delivery and installation of all sales orders.
This covers sales delivery and supplier delivery scheduling, internal and customer communications, manpower planning and customer satisfaction confirmation, including non conformity control.
You will schedule orders for delivery; soft planning function (delivery promise or request date), hard planning function (on confirmation of suppliers and customer acceptance) and will carry out vehicle and manpower planning.
You will ensure that the deliveries due in from suppliers are scheduled in line with the planned sales installation date and will liaise with both internal sales staff and suppliers.
You will prepare the routes and drivers plans based upon the delivery needs and resources available, including subcontracting where necessary.
You will identify all shortages, damages and any other customer issues and raise, control, and satisfy the Non Conformities and will manage the snagging process and Non Conformity control and that all items raised are duly completed.
You will communicate internally to ensure that all required information, incl? readiness assessments, risk assessments, site planning and access needs are ready and in alignment with latest drawing revision. You will work closely with the Sales Office, the Warehouse, Fitters, and the Sales Executives to ensure that all proceeds smoothly and that the company is acting on the latest information.
In the case of large, major and critical projects you will closely with the Operations Director and the SAT Team Leader.
Finally you will ensure that the customer is updated and accepts the latest planning and is prepared for delivery and ensure that the company receives feed back upon performance.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate may come from a variety of backgrounds e.g., Production Control, Purchasing, Logistics Planning and Scheduling or even past experience in Furniture Installations and Fit Outs.
The essential requirements are that you have the ability to match customer needs with supply and resource availability and the ability to be able to communicate effectively and acceptably to the customers by phone and e mail, (literate, numerate and articulate).
You should be PC / IT literate and at least have Intermediate Excel (particularly using Pivot tables) and also Sage.
You must have the ability and interest to ?learn the trade? (to assess journey and installation times and acquire knowledge of and familiarity with products).
The salary will be in a range of £23-27k depending upon the candidates skill set and experience. Benefits include 37.5 hour working week with holidays starting at 23 days and rising to 28 plus public holidays.
