Our Client is a household name and is one of the major fast food restaurant chains operating in the UK and the World.
They are currently seeking an Assistant Planner for their restaurant planning team to be based at their offices in Greater Manchester.
As part of a team the successful candidate will effectively plan restaurant stock requirements and inventory levels. They will also ensure the integrity of the automated stock order proposal system and will maintain assured supply to restaurants.
Key tasks will include defining and approving restaurant inventory levels and buffer stocks in restaurants at the raw item level.
You will work with the Advanced Forecasting system (AFS) to achieve stable, sustainable results on forecasts for menu products in each store.
You will carry out an analysis of local promotional activity and implementation of factors within the AFS to correct forecasts and will liaise with operations team to ensure their understanding of the proposal system and to provide guidance on areas of opportunity.
You will proactively maintain the AFS to ensure that project benefits relating to transfers, raw waste, order modifications, late adds and inventory reduction are achieved.
You will maintain individual restaurant parameters to achieve project aims and operational requirements and will establish monthly action plans to proactively improve the poorest performing restaurants on the project.
The role will involve travelling to our clients restaurants units from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate is likely to be of graduate calibre with some commercial awareness and a talent for analysis combined with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. Ideally from an analytical background with experience of demand/sales forecasting and/or inventory management.
Forecasting experience gained in the fast moving consumer goods sector would be an advantage but is not essential. Computer literacy in both use of database and PC software packages is a prerequisite of this role.
Good interpersonal skills are essential as you will be representing the company externally to both customers and suppliers.
Finally you should be a team player and have a flexible work approach.
