We currently have a great opportunity for a renewals handler to join our Bedford based Independent Broker and help them maintain their excellent renewals retention record. This is a great opportunity for hard working, passionate individuals who enjoy selling quality insurance products to a large customer database. Our client may look at high quality candidates without prior insurance experience but the starting salary will reflect this.
In short we?re looking for candidates to offer a high quality renewal service ensuring all Insurance Renewals in respect of General Insurance are issued to Policyholders prior to renewal date.
Key Role and responsibilities:
? Inviting and renewal of general insurance policies ? Dealing with all client queries both face to face and on the telephone to include identification of cross selling opportunities and complete sale of policy. ? Compilation of Cross Selling Sheets for onward transmission to Office Manager. ? Attempt to ensure that all potential lapse Policyholders remain loyal (price matching) failing which cases must be referred to Renewals Supervisor. ? Attempt to resolve any errors or complaints prior to referral to Compliance Officer. ? To achieve private car renewal retention target on a monthly basis. ? Comply with all GISC/FSA Rules & Data Protection Act ? Contribute towards the development of a high Company image of professionalism, competence and customer satisfaction.
Desired knowledge:
? Financial Services Authority Insurance Code of Business Rules. ? The principles, practices and legalities of all major classes of General Insurance and in particular, insurable interest, utmost good faith, indemnity, contribution, average and subrogation. ? The range of Personal Lines products offered by the Company and the handling procedures for each of them. ? The Misys computer system, procedures and authority : including EDI. ? The Company?s Complaints Procedure. ? Relevant sections of the Road Traffic Acts. ? Rehabilitation of Offenders, Disability Discrimination and Race Relations Acts. ? The Data Protection Act. ? Credit Schemes offered. ? The general functions of all other areas of the Company and how these relate to this role. ? Misys computer system.
