Commercial Account Handler : Devon Salary based on experience

Job Objective:

To offer a complete commercial insurance broking service to existing and potential new clients.
This will involve dealing with incoming post and telephone calls; providing quotations for all types of commercial enterprise, via the telephone, face to face or in writing. It may also involve travel to client?s/prospects premises in order to accurately and thoroughly assess the needs of the client. Placing cover as and when instructed, inviting and confirming renewals, dealing with mid term adjustments and if appropriate providing assistance to the claims department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

? Provide new business quotations for all types of commercial enterprise in a timely and efficient manner, providing relevant advice, information and guidance.
? Take and execute instructions from new clients ensuring that cover commences at the correct time, all relevant records and diary entries are created and that Contract Certainty is achieved wherever possible.
? Take and execute instructions from existing clients in respect of alterations to existing policies ensuring that insurers are notified and records updated in a timely manner.
? Offer renewal of existing client?s policies with existing insurer or move to new insurer, as appropriate. In each case, ensure relevant paperwork is completed, premium collected and relevant records and diary entries are created.
? Check thoroughly all client documentation before dispatch, ensuring that any queries are satisfied and amendments completed.
? Control your own renewal list and diary system, ensuring that all items are followed up by the due dates, particularly in relation to outstanding documentation from insurers or clients, premium payments and, where appropriate, continuation cover-notes.
? Ensure that any conversations, client meetings or instructions are clearly recorded on the records using an event log.
? Assist the claims department when necessary to ensure claims are dealt with efficiently.
? Provide support and back up to relevant colleagues in performing the daily and operational routines of the office, including the company computer systems.

Requirements:
Preferably minimum of three years experience with either an insurance company or broker. Good team working, organisational and communication skills essential.
