Commercial Account Administrator (Insurance) : Bedford, Bedfordshire : up to £14-16k plus usual company benefits apply
We currently have a great opportunity for a Commercial Administrator to join our Bedford based Independent Broker and help support their excellent Commercial Sales department. This is a great opportunity for hard working, passionate individuals who enjoy selling quality insurance products to a large customer database. Our client may look at high quality candidates without prior insurance experience but the starting salary will reflect this.
In short we?re looking for candidates to work in unison with commercial sales to provide a comprehensive commercial insurance service to existing and potential new customers of our client and to assist with their development. Maintain good relationships with underwriters to ensure customers insurance requirements are met at favourable terms.
Key Role and responsibilities:
? Work closely with commercial sales function, ensuring a high level of liaison with, and understanding of, their requirements to maximise customer satisfaction.
? Develop good communications with all other areas of the business and with customers.
? In conjunction with sales, complete detailed reviews of the insurance requirements of existing and potential new clients, and maximise new business opportunities, and maintain appropriate regular contact with existing clients to ensure insurance requirements continue to be met.
? Negotiate with underwriters in placing, amending and renewing clients? insurance policies.
? Ensure all documentation associated with placing, amending or renewing clients? insurance policies is completed in a reasonable timescale and is accurate.
? Assist accounts with resolving statement queries regarding premium differences.
? Administer incoming post promptly and efficiently.
? Control your own diary system, ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates, particularly in relation to outstanding documentation from clients or Insurers.
? Answer telephone calls promptly, deal with queries concisely and pass messages appropriately.
Desired knowledge:
? Financial Services Authority Insurance Code of Business Rules.
? The principles, practices and legalities of all major classes of General Insurance and in particular, insurable interest, utmost good faith, indemnity, contribution, average and subrogation.
? The range of Personal Lines products offered by the Company and the handling procedures for each of them.
? The Misys computer system, procedures and authority : including EDI.
? The Company?s Complaints Procedure.
? Relevant sections of the Road Traffic Acts.
? Rehabilitation of Offenders, Disability Discrimination and Race Relations Acts.
? The Data Protection Act.
? Credit Schemes offered.
? The general functions of all other areas of the Company and how these relate to this role.
? Misys computer system.
