Job Specification & Requirements

As a Technical Consultant you will be part of a growing team responsible for technology implementation and support activities for their customers.

This role is very client facing and requires exceptional customer orientated skills.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Implementation of technology solutions to their customer base.
Completion of technical documentation associated with installed solutions.
Ownership and resolution of support calls escalated from the support team
Technical Account Management of key accounts.
Providing technical pre-sales support for the solutions sales team.
Participation in 24x7 support rota (approx 1 in 5 weeks).

Ideal candidates will have:

Degree (2:1) in an appropriate subject, (or equivalent).
Microsoft MCSE or Cisco CCNA, (or equivalent)

Technical Experience
A strong background in technology implementation, specifically in the SMB sector and be focused on Microsoft and Cisco technologies. You will be able to demonstrate excellent skills in the following technical areas gained through extensive commercial experience.

Microsoft Windows Server (from NT through current versions).
Microsoft Exchange Server (from 2000 through current versions).
Microsoft SQL Server install and basic configuration (SQL admin & query language advantageous)
Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (from 98 through current versions) and MS Office (all versions).
Networking experience to include VLANs, WAN, WLAN, VPN : specifically Cisco routing and IOS
Veritas Backup Exec (from V9 through to current versions).
Security technologies including firewalls, content filtering, and anti-virus : specifically Symantec.
Experience of VMWare, Blade, SAN, and Cluster technologies would be advantageous.
