Java Developer / City / £60K

My client is a leading Global online advertising company based in the City of London currently experiencing fantastic growth rates. This success has created a new vacancy for a core java developer.


The successful candidate will have 5+ years java development with a deep understanding of the language and the core Java API?s. They will be an excellent programmer who has a passion for technology. They will be working on their flagship advertising platform which serves billions of pages to over 120 million unique users a month. This is a large and complex platform which provides many interesting technical challenges. Our engineers are actively encouraged to propose new ideas and work with relevant departments across the company to deliver projects.

It is essential that you can demonstrate excellent working knowledge in the following areas:

? Excellent core J2SE 6 programming ability (EJB, Swing experience not relevant)
? Extensive experience of writing JSP?s and Servlets
? Experience of developing fast, highly transactional, multi-threaded applications.
? A good working knowledge of (D)HTML and Javascript
? Good knowledge of SQL (eg. MySQL)
? Code optimisation and profiling tools (eg. JProfiler)
? JUnit testing framework
? Fluent and articulate in English

It would be advantageous for the candidate to have knowledge of the following

? Text analysis / semantic processing
? Experience with the Eclipse IDE
? Subversion
? Selenium
? Linux
