IT Operations Manager - Based Wakefield
Our client is a UK market leader in Fleet Management and Asset Tracking Systems. The Yorkshire based company are expanding their team due to the consistent success of their software products in a growing marketplace.
A unique opportunity exists for an experienced IT Operations Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to forge a career within a rapidly developing company. We are seeking innovative, forward thinking and highly motivated people to join an already very successful team, at a crucial time.
The operations manager will ensure the day to day servicing of the customers and the smooth running of the live environment. The operations manager will report to the technical director but will take advice from all areas of the business. The operations manager will work closely with the product development manager for advice on technical issues and for updates on new and upcoming software. The provisioning personnel and support manager will report directly to the operations manager.
1.Giving clear instructions to the operations staff. 2.Ensure the operations provisioning team are competent in using all currently sent out hardware and its features. 3.Ensure the operations support team leader: a.Keeps the team trained on the current products b.Maintains a high level of support and professional face for the company 4.Regular communication with the product development manager for training of team members and update on progress of new software or features. 5.Regular updates to the business about any outstanding issues with current or trial customers 6.Production of reports on the status of the live system to the technical director 7.Ensuring the teams under his control are trained to a level to be able to comprehensively complete their duties 8.Responsible for the live system and ultimately responsible to the customers for their service 9.Ensuring the accounts department have adequate information to be able to order the correct amounts of stock 10.Updating the Technical director with any issues and a proposal to resolve them. The operations manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring the customer experience of software and service is impeccable. This requires process which should be designed with those points of the business which it will interact with as certain process is already in place. The processes need to be documented for reference.
Other Responsibilities 1.The operations manager would be ultimately responsible for all internal IT systems including the following: Email, FTP, Backups, Power fail support, DHCP, Website, Sales tools, Connection and update of Nomad, Internal PCs, Internal printers, Internal phone system, Sales and other staff laptops Requirements: ?Microsoft Certified System Engineer ?MCSE? in NT4.0 and MCP in Windows 2000 server and professional ?Experience in Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 3.11, 95, 98, ME, 2000 server and professional, and NT4.0 server and workstation, XP, Vista) ?Experience in network services such as DHCP, DNS, Group Policies, security policies, remote Access servers and clients (dialup & VPN), Certificate servers ?Experience in Microsoft Exchange, proxy server 2.0, ISA server. ?Proficient In PC Support and maintenance. ?Good working knowledge of a variety of firewalls
Preferred candidates will also have: Experience in Cisco routers configuration. Experience in Administrating Heterogeneous Networks Experience working with GPS systems
