Senior Buyer, CIPS, Gloucestershire, to £30k + benefits

Required by this satellite communications company to evaluate, select and manage best value suppliers for the quotation and purchase of goods and services to the company its customers. You will be a key source of procurement advice and deliver procurement services to internal and external customers. Applicants should be qualified to ACIPS level (CIPS Level 5) or above, or equivalent through experience and have GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English. also required: Strong customer service ethos; Proven vendor management experience; Experience in a technical purchasing environment;

Sound knowledge of current best-practice purchasing principles and techniques; Thoroughly computer literate, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer; Evidence of an aptitude to learn other packages of similar complexity is required; Strong communication and negotiation skills; Good organisation and time management skills; Ability to work under pressure and to use own initiative; Ability and willingness to travel, occasionally, within the UK; Supervisory experience; Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the business Desirable Qualifications / Experience; Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) software; An understanding of electronic internet-based purchasing systems.
