Our client is a major UK express parcels carrier and part of a large privately owned group. With a network of 62 depots, employing over 7000 staff and a turnover in excess of £350 million they operate in a very challenging market and are committed to a high quality home and business delivery service nationwide.

They are currently seeking a Regional HR Manager for their North Central Region which comprises 14 depots located in the East Midlands, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Staffordshire and North Wales.

Reporting into the HR Business Partner : North, the successful candidate will provide a generalist HR service to the Operations Management teams of 14 express parcels depots. In addition you will work closely with HR Business Partners and Operations Managers to fully integrate HR activity with operations plans to contribute to the desired business objectives.

You will be part of the HR team who the Depot Management teams come to for guidance on everything from the handling of recruitment and employee relations issues to interpretation of employment law, contractual amendments and improving people management.

You will also be responsible for ensuring HR legal compliance in all areas and you will need to encourage a positive employee relations climate.

Getting the right people on board and developing and retaining them is vital to our clients success, and you will provide the support to do exactly that in your geographical region.

Knowledge and Skills:

As a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, you will need to be an accomplished HR Generalist ideally within a multi-site unionised environment with an in :depth and up to date knowledge of employment law.

Of graduate calibre you will have a thorough grasp of broader business issues and the ability to initiate and deliver change in a way that engages our client?s people.

In addition you should have a positive, professional and proactive approach and have the essential ability to communicate at all levels and a commitment to develop, both in terms of our clients HR function and on a personal basis.
