Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider. Within their Site Services Division they are currently seeking a Fire and Safety Officer to ensure the cost effective and efficient functioning of our clients fire and safety services at the various camps located throughout the region.

Reporting into the Camp Services Manager the successful candidate will manage all aspects of site safety and fire plans as well as all evacuation plans for all the various sites.

You will liaise with the clients and attend any meetings that you are called to attend and you will complete all month end documentation, cash reconciliations etc etc and ordering of materials to perform the above tasks.
You will look after all of our clients assets during the performance of your duty and report any anomalies to the Camp Services Manager.

Finally you will draw up all fire plans and risk assessments as required to ensure a safe operational environment and will assist with gaining ISO accreditation

Knowledge and Skills:

You will be an accomplished fire safety specialist having a background in remote camp services or in the running of fire and safety services in a factory complex ideally with ISO Accreditation. This should be supported by some qualifications in fire safety or occupational health.

Experience of supervisory experience of third world tradespersons, and the ability to motivate and enforce western work practices and standards would be ideal.

You should have excellent planning and organizing skills and have the ability to pay close attention to detail.

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate - Microsoft Office.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Fire Safety professional looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and accordingly they seek a minimum of 12 to 18 months commitment.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual profit share bonus payable which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free to an Ex-Patriate employee.

Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also the internet for e-mails etc.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approximately 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
