Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider. Founded in 1957 its headquarters are in Europe and are renowned as a market leader and an innovative distributor of wholesale food products and food logistics concepts.
They distribute food products across all temperature spans including fresh produce and also deliver soft drinks and bottled water. They have sites in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Near Asia, a fleet of 40 foot multi : temperature trucks and vans delivering to sites on a daily basis, many of which are difficult to reach or in dangerous areas!
Over the years the business has developed from food logistics to include the provision of complex service solutions. They now provide catering operations- both military feeding and commercial catering, they operate bakeries, coffee shops, hairdressing and beautician salons and PX / Duty Free retail stores which sell groceries, electrical and other duty free items etc.
They also have a Site Services Division which provides construction of buildings and offices, general facilities management, fuel management, vehicle and plant maintenance services.
Our client has a Regional Business Support Centre in Dubai and a Finance and IT Centre in Sharjah both of which provide core central support services to the business units which are based in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Our Client is seeking a Divisional HR Manager to be based at its Regional Service Centre in Dubai. Reporting into the HR Manager and the relevant Business Unit Director you will provide a full Human Resource service to a specific operating division, with an emphasis on recruitment and selection. In addition you will support the HR Manager and Director of HR in developing the HR department by participating in formulating HR policies, procedures and systems and other HR initiatives.
Key tasks will be to recruit and select suitable employees into the designated Business Units within the Division ensuring all positions recruited for have an up-to-date job description.
You will ensure all new employees obtain required travel visas and will also ensure all employees receive an induction into the organisation.
You will provide support to Managers and employees on our clients performance management system and will provide general advice to Managers regarding HR issues.
You will develop a good working relationship with other departments and will contribute to the development of our clients Intranet Site.
You will facilitate positive employee relations within the Division and provide professional and efficient service to all employees.
You will provide a weekly recruitment status to the HR Manager and will provide recommendations to the Human Resources Manager and Director of HR on improvements to current HR systems, policies and procedures.
Finally the role will require travel to our clients / business units on a regular basis.
Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate should have a tertiary qualification in HR / Personnel or Business Administration and be an accomplished HR Generalist.
You should have a grasp of broader business issues and the ability to initiate and deliver change in a way that engages our client?s people.
In addition you should have a positive, professional and proactive approach and have the essential ability to communicate at all levels and a commitment to develop, both in terms of our client?s HR function and on a personal basis.
You should be fluent in written and spoken English and have a strong attention to detail.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate particularly in Excel and spreadsheets.
