We are a Global Brokerage House based in the City of London and are now looking for a Product Control Manager.

The Product Control function provides a comprehensive service to the Products and Markets Division that includes daily P&L production, ensuring trades are booked and valued correctly and accounted for in accordance with accounting standards. The Middle Office is a business partner to the Front Office to ensure full understanding and support of their business. The Middle Office also plays a major role in ensuring the proper controls are in place for booking and accounting for financial products, the provision of financial management information, supporting the Front Office businesses (Spread Betting, FX and CFD Products desks), including client valuations, liaising with the other support areas, and providing support for various ad hoc projects

The role will include P&L production, pricing, regular liaison with many other areas in Products and Markets including Front Office, Risk, Operations, IT and Finance. The candidate will be professional, IT literate, able to take responsibility, a team player and will work closely with the other support teams.

You will manage a small team of Product Controllers and the role will include:
- Preparation of daily Management Information reporting to strict deadlines.
- Investigation and understanding of differences between daily P&L and front office P&L, and the general ledger.
- Review the trading activity of derivative and cash instruments
- Investigation and understanding of trends and differences within Management Information.
- Sourcing client valuations and reviewing these for reasonableness.
- Add value to existing procedures by designing and improving processes and procedures for the MI and controls that the team is responsible for.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for information from other departments as well as Group whilst representing the middle office.
- New product approvals
- Back to back products
- Involvement in other ongoing projects

Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant with a good understanding of financial products. You will have good product control experience from a leading Investment Bank or Trading House and have a 2:1 (or equivalent) or higher degree from a leading university. If you have product control experience in Spread Betting, FX or CFD including any Vanilla or Exotic products then you will be of interest.
