Head of Funds Strategy - London - £50K-£75K with a profit, bonus & car allowance

Our highly reputable client is a leading provider of financial products and services. They currently have a requirement for a head of department to lead the Fund Strategy & Selection Group and take primary responsibility for the management, development and marketing of the company?s pension investment proposition such that it becomes and is recognised as a clear positive differentiator in the marketplace.

The Role
?Primary responsibility for the design, management & innovation of the group and individual pension?s investment platforms to meet needs of key stakeholders.
?Responsibility for the development, articulation and implementation of a market leading investment governance and fund selection & deselection process
?Ownership of the primary senior relationship with external investment partners for Pensions, including managing fund agreements, negotiating terms of business, establishing legal agreements, systems set-up, etc.
?Building strong and effective collaborative relationships across the business and with key clients, EBCs and IFAs.
? Active trade and national press engagement through regular interviews, articles and conference speaker engagements; generation of a range of PR messages; acting as primary company spokesperson for pensions investment matters

Candidate Skills
?In-depth knowledge of the collective funds industry, covering the full spectrum of investment products and asset classes, including long-only, 130/30 and alternatives. Should include a high level of familiarity and ideally pre-existing relationships with the leading 30 fund groups operating in the UK together with a sound knowledge of their fund offerings, key strengths and primary fund managers.
?Solid foundation and technical understanding of investment theory
?Demonstrable practical experience and expertise in fund analysis and portfolio construction and/or fund of funds management
?Strong investment marketing skills
?At least 7 years directly relevant investment experience (see above)
?Investment Management Certificate or equivalent qualification required and CFA desirable
?Good degree in a relevant discipline
?Experience of people management

Package
£50,000 and £75,000 with a profit and performance-based bonus and a car allowance +Benefits. This position means being in London for part of the week & Salisbury the rest.
