Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider operating in post conflict areas of which providing retail services to their armed forces clients forms a key part of their operation.
Our client has a Regional Business Support Centre in Dubai and a Finance and IT Centre in Sharjah both of which provide core central support services to the business units which are based in the Middle East, Africa and Near Asia.
They are currently seeking a Finance Manager to ensure that all of our clients finance and accounting functions relating to their retail operations in Afghanistan are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with our clients SOPs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities relating to finance and accounting in our client retail operations in Afghanistan.
You will ensure the day to day recording, balancing, auditing, handling and reporting of the cash and other income receipts are performed. You will ensure that the income audit function includes matching the income receipts with the retail pro reports and that the inventory transfer process from warehouse to outlets and returns are audited and reported.
You will ensure that high value items inventory are surprise checked each month and you will conduct weekly balancing of cash against the cash book.
You will prepare cash flow projections and the monthly payroll for the business unit and will prepare accurate and timely preparation of weekly and monthly KPI reports for Head Office.
You will carry out audits of customer credit notes, provide accounts receivable data to the finance department and assist with the following up of outstanding payments.
You will ensure that retail redistribution charges to other business units are prepared, audited and processed and you also ensure that retail staff discount and key account discount policies are complied with.
Finally you will prepare ad hoc cost analysis reports and will maintain an asset register by conducting regular audits on assets, registering new assets in a timely manner and the transfer and disposal of assets is marked appropriately as their status changes.

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate should have a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business Administration and be an accomplished Finance Manager with experience of managing a finance team in a retail environment.
You should be fluent in written and spoken English have a strong attention to detail and have experience in removing abuse of dishonest practices within a cash handling environment.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate particularly in Excel and spreadsheets.
