Our client is a market and technology leader in steam turbine technologies. Further improving this technology is both critical to maintaining this market position, and to overcoming some of the environmental challenges they face. Therefore they continue to invest heavily in steam turbine technologies.
Due to the outstanding success of the Steam Turbine Retrofit activity, they are looking to recruit key personnel for a new and exciting product line - Small Steam Turbines (TSS).
They have exciting roles for individuals keen to work in a fast paced environment and be at the forefront of this product line one of which is an Industrial Director.
Purpose of the Job
The role objective is to align manufacturing capabilities, capacity and supply chain with the specific needs of Steam Turbines in the Industrial Sector.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
? Establish the manufacturing technologies and process needs for the world class production of Small Steam Turbines
? Develop the supply chain required to enable the world class production of Small Steam Turbines
? Understand the current and evolving capabilities and capacities of the company?s manufacturing network on a global basis.
? Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking
? Develop and implement plans that match the TMG
? Factory networks manufacturing technologies, capacities and processes to the business requirements of TSS. Where these plans involve additional or complimentary capabilities and capacities, to lead and drive the integration with the TMG network.
? Lead any necessary Technology Transfers from within or from outside the organisation.
? Develop and lead the evolution of the supply chain both internally and outside the business.
? Establish strong and effective links into the TSS R&D and Engineering communities in order to optimise products around a design for manufacture philosophy.
? Forge strong and effective links into the wider factory and supply chain organisations of Turbomachines group.
? Maintain the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the manufacturing and supply chain organisations to meet the needs of the business through continual improvement.
? Maximise the benefits of product standardisation and economies of scale to drive cost, quality and schedule effectiveness.
Educational Requirements
Production Engineering degree or Mechanical Engineering with a strong production or industrial focus.
Experience
? Significant operational factory management experience, in a turbomachinery environment and preferably at an industrial product scale
? Highly knowledgeable in manufacturing techniques and their successful introduction into a traditional manufacturing environment
? Proven experience in applying lean and other similar efficiency driving manufacturing principles
? Experience of establishing, maturing and continually improving the controls and metrics
? needed to monitor, manage and drive increasingly higher manufacturing and supply chain performance
