The Role : Communications Officer
The successful Communications Officer will be reporting directly to the General Manager. As a Communications officer you will have experience of health and safety procedures, be able to communicate at all levels and build relationships with local, national and business media. Other duties involve producing press releases, features and manage all media enquiries, produce a community newsletter, manage the company website, present reports to committees and build a database of press cuttings.
The Company
Our client is a wholly owned subsidiary of a large national waste management company, and is responsible for managing a 25 year integrated waste management contract with the local council, including operating 15 community recycling centres, 4 waste transfer stations and 1 materials recovery facility.
The Candidate : Communications Officer
As Communications Officer you will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have excellent written and oral communication skills with considerable experience of media liaison, agency management, writing news releases and publications. The ability to work well within a team is essential and experience of working within a local authority would be desirable as would previous experience of working in marketing.
