Our client is looking for a Transport Planner with extensive experience in transport planning, either in the public sector and/or consultancy. A breadth of experience is advantageous, particularly in policy/strategy development and/or scheme feasibility and delivery.
The successful candidate will work predominately, but not exclusively, for public sector clients.
The successful candidate will be a strong project manager who is able to communicate well with both clients and colleagues. You will be expected to supervise a small team and actively market the full range of the company`s offer to clients on the west coast of Scotland.
The candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
A good first degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
An excellent understanding of the transport planning environment in Scotland.
A keen appreciation of the administrative frameworks and practices in the west coast of Scotland.
Excellent oral/written communication skills and presentation skills.
The ability to manage major, multi-disciplinary projects.
Familiarity with Microsoft office.
The following skills / experience would be desirable but not essential:
A good understanding of the principles and/or application of demand and revenue modelling/forecasting.
Application of Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance (STAG).
A higher degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
