Our client is a civil engineering professional services organisation working with clients across the UK maintaining transport infrastructure and managing new highways build projects such bridges, underpasses, other structures etc. The organisation offers an integrated design service working both with clients and the main contracting business.

The business offers an integrated range of design solutions. Reporting to the Design / Technical Director the position will take charge of the highways structures design team of 8 people. The role will work alongside the colleague teams of Roads and Highways, Lighting, Geotechnical and Networks.

The position will manage the department to:

? Deliver detailed structures and designs to deliver to contractual schedules.
? Be the authority on technical design in the area.
? Train and develop the team.
? Work with and alongside clients and the contracting teams.
? Advise bid management where relevant

The usual civil engineering qualifications are essential to operate at this senior level.
