My client is a hugely successful business with a presence throughout the world, and they are part of a larger corporation that generates a turnover exceeding £1bn. They are one of the leading point of sale (POS) manufacturers, with a client base that includes a host of instantly recognisable brand names. From their Leicestershire premises they manage the whole process from the initial conceptual design through to final manufacture. To support a period of sustained growth they are looking to recruit a Development Design Engineer.

The key responsibilities of this position will be the design and development of point of sale equipment, such as specialist stands for the cosmetics industry and speciality racking for the snacks and beverage industry. You must ensure that the customer specification is adhered to, the item can be correctly assembled and that all the bespoke components manufactured for the item are fit for purpose. Essentially this role is a mixture of design and project management within the POS industry.

The key requirements for this position are a level of proficiency with AutoCAD and Solidworks software, alongside project management skills with experience of working to set timescales within budgetary constraints.
