Our Client a Leading Facilities service are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Technician.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
Report to and seek advice from the Electrical Engineer on all matters appertaining to Operational matters, Regulatory and Statutory compliance.
Apply electrical skills in respect of maintenance and new works and in so doing provide a safe efficient service.
DUTIES
Operations Arrangements
Maintain a responsible attitude to work, be able to work unsupervised and apply technical and manual skills required to meet requirements of the Contract when carrying out work:
? Appropriate to core specialist skill and to use all relevant tools and equipment associated with all aspects of their work.
? Associated to inspections, testing, planned maintenance, and modifications of systems, plant, equipment and buildings.
? To carry out inspection, testing and certification on electrical systems when deemed necessary
? To investigate, diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical systems, plant and equipment.
? To start up, run, monitor the operation and shut down of service plant, equipment and systems.
? To install or assist in the installation and repair of plant and services.
? To fabricate or repair miscellaneous supports, structures and items of equipment from various materials.
? To install new equipment and to relocate existing equipment throughout the site. and transportation of equipment.
? To isolate equipment so that it is safe to work on.
? To withdraw and / or return materials and equipment from stores.
? To clean up areas on completion of engineering work and to maintain the cleanliness of plant, equipment, plant rooms, switch rooms, engineering workshops and maintain the site free from engineering debris.
? To work a reasonable amount of overtime, occasionally at short notice and to partake in a call out rosta reporting for work as requirements of the job dictate.
? To initiate and or receive permits to work when appointed to do so.
Quality Arrangements
Accountable for ensuring that Regulatory activities are carried out, in compliance with Companies Quality System and the Company IMS as it applies to the Contract by competent employees as defined in the customers and the Company Cross Site SOPs, Processes, local SOPs together with any adopted procedures from Site based user Groups.
Maintenance of Plant and Facilities to ensure appropriate and correct operation, to efficiently and reliably operate within specification while ensuring that records are maintained in line with Operational, Regulatory and Statutory practice.
Ensure that all work:
? is carried out as planned and breakdown maintenance, fault finding and installation of engineering equipment and systems is carried out in accordance with procedure
? processed documentation through the Computerised Management System (CMMS) ensuring that adequate services are maintained
? is inputted and information retrieved from the CMMS is carried out on time and accurately reflects the work
? Appertaining to the operation of engineering equipment and services is carried out to meet efficiency and performance criteria and recommend continual improvements where appropriate.
Responsible for subcontractors when appointed as the Responsible Person for overseeing their actions on Site.
Report to the Area Engineer situations that deviate from the expected and found during maintenance activities on GxP qualified equipment, systems and utilities, which could affect product quality so that Engineering Quality Alerts can be raised.
Health, Safety Environmental Arrangements
Raise and or follow task based risk assessments COSHH, Manual Handling and Display Screen Equipment ensuring that controls are fully met.
Carry out high risk tasks in full compliance with the customer and / or the companies Procedures, Guidance and Rules, and in accordance with responsibilities / duties specified within the companies Arrangements when appointed as a Competent Person.
Clean up areas on completion of engineering work and maintain the cleanliness of plant, equipment, plant rooms, and switch rooms ensuring that the site is free from engineering debris and waste.
Maintain an attitude that accident prevention and damage control are an integral part of the business and operational efficiency.
Follow safe systems of work with the aim of preventing injury to personnel and damage to plant and property.
Act as a receiving authority under both the customers and the companies Permit to Work systems when trained and authorised to safely carry out the duties and responsibilities of a authorised and or competent person.
