My client has a vacancy for a senior UPS applications engineer, reporting to the Deputy General Manager, based in their office in Bangkok, Thailand.

The role is suited to an existing UPS applications engineer who wants to broaden their career horizons, take on additional responsibility and travel internationally.

The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

0 Accompany sales persons for discussion with customers for major projects in terms of technical and associated commercial issues.
0 Reply to tenders : prepare quotations including compliance statement and drawings.
0 Prepare quotations for the sales team in response to general sales enquiries.
0 Prepare a bill of works for costing & ordering purposes
0 Provide sales staff with support in interpreting customer requirements
0 Design UPS and battery configurations that meet customer needs in performance and cost
0 Support sales staff as requested with site visits to evaluate equipment requirements
0 Prepare drawings for pre-sales quotation responses using Auto-Cad software (or equivalent)
0 Maintain adequate records of work in progress
0 Maintain cost files (inter company transfer prices; external vendor prices)
0 Undertake project profitability analysis with Finance Team (after project completion)
0 Ensure costing accuracy : modify costing process and cost variables (exchange rates; freight costs; project management costs; commissioning hours etc) in accordance with analysis of project profitability

The successful candidate will have experience in MS Office and CAD systems, an electronic or electrical degree or diploma and four or more years experience as a UPS engineer in a tech support environment. Additionally you will need good interpersonal skills, excellent English written and language skills, and be able to work under pressure.
