Working for our client based in London Gatwick Airport, you will be working a shift pattern of 4 nights - 4 nights off 18:00 - 06:00.
Role requires PRMs to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRM?s) from the aircraft to the terminal and vice versa. This does include lifting some passengers (for which full training is given) into and out of their aircraft seats and their own wheelchairs etc. When lifting is required two or more Agents work together as necessary. At other times PRM?s work as individuals and are therefore required to be largely self-supervising. PRM?s can also be trained to drive the Company?s electric Buggies and Ambulances that are used out on the tarmac. PRM?s who have exceptional driving ability can progress to driving Hi-Lift scissor trucks. Some supervisory positions can also become available.
Job Brief q Departures. Collecting passengers with reduced mobility from check-in and transporting them in an electric Buggy or Wheelchair as appropriate into the Departure Lounge where they can dine or go shopping. Then re-collecting the passengers by flight groups in the Departure Lounge and transporting them in an electric Buggy or Wheelchair down to the Gate for boarding onto the aircraft. q Arrivals Collecting passengers from their arriving aircraft and transporting them in an electric Buggy or Wheelchair as appropriate, taking them through immigration down to Baggage Reclaim to collect their baggage and finally unite them with their ground transport. q CCA?s duties also include q Providing assistance with baggage. q Providing assistance for passengers who are visually challenged or who are non-English speaking or have other difficulties during their passage through the airport. q Assisting PRM?s who are transferring between flights. q Walking around 10 miles a day. q Negotiating the airport infrastructure and escorting passenger to their destination in tight time scales. q Performing light cleaning duties on Buggies and wheelchairs during down time q The use of radios to communicate with control. q The accurate completion of operational paperwork. q Providing assistance to the aircraft for crated animals on some departures.
