Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider. Our Client manages a large food distribution contract from a modern multi-temperature distribution centre located in Kabul, Afghanistan on behalf of one of the countries who is participating in ISAF, the multi-national peacekeeping force in Afghanistan.

They are currently seeking a Customer Services Field Manager for this food distribution contract.

The primary objective is to maintain the best quality of customer service in a progressively fast-paced organization where interpersonal skills and professionalism is a priority.



Key tasks will be accurately and effectively reporting and document any discrepancies upon shipment of deliveries. You will ensure all customer requests for credits for Class 1 Subsistence are investigated and authorized by Depot General Manager and Customer Service Manager.

You will be responsible for the timely processing and retrieval of invoices coming from the customer and will resolve customer issues in a professional manner, ensuring that a high level of customer service is achieved.

You will develop and establish a strong working relationship with the customer to facilitate a better understanding of customers needs and will collaborate with the customer to identify potential candidate items for long-term strategic support initiatives.

You will act as a liaison point for the customer and our client to ensure that demand data, deliveries and orders are accurate and executed with the utmost satisfaction.

You will ensure that extensive communication channels exist and are upheld between customers and our client and will closely monitor operator errors and take appropriate remedial action.

Finally you will ensure all administration documentation is completed and processed accurately and effectively.

Knowledge and Skills:

To meet this unique challenge you will ideally be a sales and / or customer services professional and ideally knowledgeable of international food products and computerized ordering and inventory systems.

A military background would be useful.

You should possess strong numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize high pressured workloads while maintaining both high levels of professionalism and interpersonal skills.

You should be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.

Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished customer service / sales operations professional looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 12 to 18 months commitment.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus payable after 12 months service which is paid annually and is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate.

Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 63 days annual leave per year and the working rota is approx 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off.

Western Ex-Patriate employees will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
